About the VHL6

The Regional Coordination Meeting of the VHL is the most important forum for sharing experiences and knowledge among the VHL institutions network that produce, intermediate and use scientific and technical information in health.

The 6th Coordination Meeting of the Virtual health Library (BVS6) will have as central theme eHealth and the development of the VHL, will be held at the Pan American Health Organization Headquarters, in Washington, D.C. on 20 and 21 October 2012.

The event precedes the 9° Regional Congress on Health Sciences Information (CRICS9) and aims to promote a broad discussion on the development of the VHL oriented according to the objectives of eHealth Strategy and Plan of Action (2012-2017)  for the Latin America and Caribbean region and the recommendations of the VHL Meeting 2011.

In addition to the plenary sessions, the BVS6 rely on three Working Groups (GT):

Objective: to promote the discussion of themes on the strategic management of the VHL networks and mobilize the participation of the network in the formulation of health and information policies.

Objective: to foster the debate on the products and information services of the VHL that contributes to the access and use of scientific and technical information in health at all levels (management, research, education and health care).

Objective: to promote the debate on the use, development and innovation technologies in the context of the VHL.

Each working group will have online preparatory meetings where proposals shall be proposed and discussed, and then consolidated in the meeting in Washington, D.C. and presented in the final BVS6 plenary session.
